The Creepiest Place in Texas
The Travel Channel has named hotel Galvez as the creepiest place in Texas. Known as "Queen of the Gulf," in Galveston opened its doors in 1911 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The hotel’s rich history is laden with mystery, most notably the tale of the "Lovelorn Lady" who haunts the fifth floor. Legend has it, bride-to-be, Audra took her life in room 501 after she heard her betrothed died at sea, only for him to arrive at the hotel alive and well days later. Guests of Hotel Galvez have reported experiencing cold breezes, doors slamming and flickering lights.
